We are about 130 miles NNW of
London. The nearest city is Derby (18 miles) with Sheffield and Nottingham a little further away.We are at the bottom end of the Pennine chain (the high ground that forms the backbone of England ), and on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
If you are travelling up from the south on the M1 take junction 28,then the A38 and A615 to Matlock. From the north on the M1 you are best taking junction 29 - it leaves a fast dual-carriageway into Chesterfield whereas junction 30 sends you on lots of slow minor roads.
If you arrive in Matlock on either the A632 from Chesterfield or the A615 from Alfreton/M1 you will come to the roundabout in the town centre.Take the Bakewell road and we are about 300 yds out on the left hand side. If you come on the A6 from either Bakewell/Buxton or from Derby you will come to a roundabout on the west side of the town.Take the A615/Town Centre exit and we are about 600 yds on the right hand side.
